Terms of Use

Last updated 6 November 2026

In short: Détente is licensed to you under Apple's standard terms. Diplomat is an optional subscription you can cancel any time in Settings. Every region of the game can be completed without Diplomat. Play fair, and you keep your rights under consumer law.

Who we are

Détente is made by Frontier Collective ("we", "us"). These terms cover the game and its website, detente.frontiercollective.ai. By downloading or playing the game you agree to them. Write to admin@frontiercollective.ai with any question.

The licence

Détente is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"), which applies together with these terms. You may use it on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store's usage rules allow. If these terms and the Apple EULA differ, the Apple EULA governs your use of the app.

The game and your progress

Diplomat subscription

Fair play

Don't copy, modify, reverse-engineer, redistribute or sell the game or its content, or use it to break the law. The isles you draw are yours; we claim no rights over them.

Our content

The game, its art, music, text and names belong to Frontier Collective or the people who licensed them to us.

If we stop

We may stop offering the game or a feature of it. If we stop offering Diplomat, we'll stop renewals, and you won't be charged for a period you can't use.

Liability

The game is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don't affect (in Australia, under the Australian Consumer Law; in the UK, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Where the law gives you a guarantee that can't be excluded, nothing in these terms excludes it. Apple's role, including any refund, is set out in the Apple EULA.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. If you live elsewhere you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date. A change that affects Diplomat or what you can do in the game is also shown in the app before it applies.
